Learn Three Reasons Why Your Computer May Have Slowed Down

When your computer runs slow, it can get annoying fast. There are many different reasons why a computer may start to run slow. Learn the three major reasons why a computer may begin to slow down in the guide that follows.

Computer May Have a Virus

Viruses can overtake your computer within a matter of seconds without you even realising it. Viruses are often found on websites and sent through emails. In order to avoid possible viruses, it is important to have a virus scanner on your computer at all times. Only open emails from people that you know and avoid visiting any websites that your virus scanner alerts you may be infected.

If you think that you have a virus, go to your start screen, type in the word programs into the small search bar and click on the add or remove programs location. It will open and you can see if any new programs downloaded without your permission. You can remove any that you choose at this point. If pop-ups keep showing up on your screen, you need to get a professional to remove the virus for you.

Multiple Users May Be Using Your Wi-Fi

If you use Wi-Fi to get onto the internet, there is a good chance that your neighbours may be using the Wi-Fi if it is not password protected. All you need to do is click on the Wi-Fi icon on your computer and change the settings to make the Wi-Fi password protected. You can choose the password and the neighbours will not be able to get onto the network because they do not have the password. The fewer users on your internet, the faster you should be able to search online.

Computer May Have Too Many Programs

If your computer is jam packed with multiple programs, pictures or documents, it will not work quickly because it is too bogged down with information. Use the same technique you used earlier to see if there was a virus to find which programs you can get rid of to make your computer work at a quicker rate of speed.

If you notice that you have tried all of these solutions and your computer is still not working quickly, take your computer to be looked at by professionals at computer repair services. They will be able to run tests to determine what is wrong with the computer and make any necessary repairs.

About Me

Tina's Technology Blog

Hi! Welcome to my blog folks. My name is Tina and this is my technology blog. When I was 7 years old, my parents bought me a GameBoy computer and I fell in love with technology for the first time. I couldn't believe how much fun I could have. From there, my passion for different forms of technology grew. Although I didn't become a technology professional, I still love to incorporate technology into my personal and working life. I use technology to make my life more efficient, exciting and fun. I decided to start this blog so I could share my love of tech with the world.
